World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item lets players increase an item's gear rating up to 700 points and add a bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For instance, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't really change after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats such as damage to attack, crit chance PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a single unit. This bonus can sometimes exceed the damage a weapon upgrade alone can do.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and current level. For example an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is usually a good aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. Upgrades can render items unusable, unless you are exceptionally lucky.
Items of armor can also be upgraded to boost their performance. This will increase the defense of a helm or chest as well as belts and gloves. These can boost their strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may reroll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain upon upgrading along with the relative values of those stats. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in the weapon gaining 33% attack damage. However the 3% does not mean that it will hit for 3 fewer times because it's an absolute statistic.
A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button with arrows that circle in the item menu. This will roll an item and alter its stats but it will not reset the weapon's levels or bind it to account status.
Armor
Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a a huge difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, making the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the more health you'll get from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game and in order to unlock them all, you have to complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the primary side quest and have completed the corresponding fountain and then you can contact any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees needed for each will vary. It is possible to use anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a large group of enemies in most cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to withstand the full-on assault with a few of your friends.
You can't upgrade your armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or spell power. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you use for the final boss battle as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.
You can also gain benefits to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades for the armor on your chest and helmets to allow you to escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the participant, produce a temporary effect. There are five different types of potions, each with specific effects and durations. item upgrades can be upgraded, enhancing their level of effect. Alternatively the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust the potions.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. These can be earned by making them on a table or in the Alchemist's chest. However, the upgrade price is dependent on the type of potion you want to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that allows you to select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll provide when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again, or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to rename it.
Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the way potions are used. Splash potions, for instance have now a duration of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display of the item. The potion table is now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. The same is true for the use of a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will drain the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
Finally, there are lingering potions, which are brewed with splash and dragon breath potions. Similarly, a lingering potions can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The table of potions has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket can be described as a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It may also refer to an object or ornament that serves a purpose, but is not particularly important like a thimble. In some cultures a trinket is a way to express friendship or affection between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons and armor, as well as potions. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be exchanged at any time without losing statistics.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with gold, tokens, or fragments from a rare trinket.

Upgrades to trinkets are an affordable alternative to buying new ones. A player can upgrade their trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base level as the old trinket, but will also have an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
Once the old Trinkets are no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players, making them an extremely popular alternative to gold.
In general players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are upgraded first then their secondary gear and finally other equipment that they will not replace anytime soon (such as a ring or an cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when choosing the items to upgrade. For instance, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should prioritize upgrading their chest, helm, shoulders, and belt.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher ilvl once they no longer have value, and the new trinket will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. However, a re-upgrade will ruin the previous trinket in the event that it is not salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
